Chartered Moments didn’t begin as an organization.
It began as a feeling.
A feeling of being overlooked. Of sitting in her room in an apartment she could not afford, on the verge of eviction, during the holidays while everyone else packed up and went home. A feeling of calculating how to stretch $20 between groceries, laundry, and a box of pads. A feeling of smiling through struggle because asking for help didn’t feel like an option.
Our founder was raised in a low-income household in Houston, Texas. From a young age, she knew what it meant to go without—but she also knew how to keep going. Through faith, determination, and the support of those who believed in her, she earned a place at Spelman College, a dream that once felt impossibly far away.
But even dreams come with pressure.
College brought growth and opportunity—but also new layers of stress. Essentials like food, hygiene items, and school supplies became burdens. Holidays were the loneliest times, not because of the grades or the coursework, but because home wasn’t a place she could easily afford to return to. The world kept moving, but she often felt stuck—between the pride of making it and the quiet pain of not having enough.
Still, she endured. And as she got closer to graduation, a different thought began to form—not just “How do I survive this?” but:
“How can I make sure no one else feels like this again?”
That question became a calling. And that calling became Chartered Moments.
To charter something is to commission it, to set it in motion with intention. And that’s exactly what we do—we create moments on purpose, for people who need them most.
Moments of relief.
Moments of recognition.
Moments of joy.
Each basket we give is a small but mighty gesture that says:
You matter. You are not forgotten. You are loved.
Chartered Moments supports:
College students who are far from home and struggling silently
Families and individuals facing financial hardship
Special education students navigating school and life transitions
We curate and deliver baskets filled with essentials—like hygiene items, snacks, school supplies, and small comforts—but more than anything, we deliver hope.
Because a basket is more than just stuff—it’s a reminder that someone cares.
We proudly serve communities across Texas, Georgia, and surrounding states, focusing on areas where resources may be limited and support is needed.
We’re driven by compassion.
By lived experience.
By the belief that even the smallest gesture can leave a lifelong impact.
Our founder turned pain into purpose—and now, through Chartered Moments, we get to turn that purpose into action. One basket at a time. One story at a time.
What if no one else had to carry that kind of burden alone?
What if care could arrive in the form of a basket—a moment of kindness chartered just for them?
